Cobalt Blue 1504
Classification :
PRODUCT DETAILS
Cobalt Blue 1504 is a spinel-type, high-temperature stable inorganic ceramic composite pigment. With a cobalt-aluminum metal oxide as its core color-generating system, it appears as an ultrafine powder of pure, deep royal blue with rich and uniform hue. As a classic blue pigment specially designed for high-temperature ceramic coloring, it is suitable for various middle and high-end ceramic decoration applications. Different from common organic blue dyes and regular ultramarine pigments, it far exceeds conventional blue colorants in heat resistance and chemical stability, and is safe, eco-friendly and highly durable.
Basic Information
Model: Cobalt Blue 1504 (industry standard grade, specially for ceramic glazes)
Category: Inorganic ceramic glaze pigment (blue spinel-type high-temperature composite pigment)
Core Composition: Co-Al spinel composite oxide system (cobalt-aluminum oxide solid solution)
Appearance: Pure royal blue, uniform ultrafine powder, free of agglomeration and visible impurities, with fine and smooth texture
Note: Pure inorganic spinel-structured pigment, non-toxic unlike organic dyes, free of heavy metals. Remarkably different from vanadium-zirconium blue, ultramarine and phthalocyanine blue in hue, temperature resistance and weatherability.

Core Product Features
Extremely Stable High-Temperature Color Development: Dense and stable spinel crystal structure ensures no fading, color difference or graying at 1300℃ firing. Batch color difference is strictly controlled, supporting large-scale ceramic production with high color consistency and eliminating mass color variation.
Pure Hue & High Saturation: Presents deep, steady true royal blue with uniform color without mottling. The shade is elegant and high-grade. It can be used alone or blended with lemon yellow, apple green, vanadium-zirconium blue and other pigments to create various blue shades such as lake blue, navy blue and blue-green.
Eco-Friendly, Non-Toxic & Safe: Pure inorganic mineral spinel formula, free of EU-prohibited heavy metals such as lead and cadmium, odorless and without volatile harmful substances. Passed international environmental and food contact safety tests, suitable for direct use on tableware ceramic glazes.
Excellent Application Compatibility: Easy to grind and disperse in glaze slips and glaze systems. Suitable for full-range ceramic decoration processes including underglaze color, in-glaze color, screen printing, decal paper and ceramic inkjet printing. Smooth application without color spots or screen clogging.
Outstanding Durability & Weatherability: Finished glaze is scratch-resistant, acid-alkali resistant, UV-resistant and water-stain resistant. Retains bright royal blue for long-term indoor and outdoor use without aging or deterioration, greatly enhancing the appearance and service life of ceramic products.
Main Application Areas
Architectural Ceramics: Glaze coloring for interior tiles, exterior tiles, antique tiles, floor tiles and mosaics, creating an elegant and steady blue decorative style. Strong weatherability for outdoor tiles with no discoloration in long-term use.
Domestic Ceramics: Food-contact ceramic products including tableware, tea sets, coffee sets, bowls, dishes and storage jars, safe, non-toxic with an elegant and attractive hue.
Art Ceramics: Craft porcelain, decorative porcelain, creative ceramic ornaments, underglaze hand-painted works and antique ceramics, meeting fine coloring and creative tinting demands with texture far superior to ordinary blue pigments.
Other High-Temperature Fields: Coloring for sanitary ceramics, enamel products, high-temperature refractory materials, special glass and industrial high-temperature coatings.

Usage Instructions
Mix and mill thoroughly with base glaze, then sieve through a 325-mesh standard sieve to ensure uniform dispersion and avoid color spots, patches or uneven tone.
Fire preferably under oxidizing or neutral atmosphere; strong reducing atmosphere should be avoided to prevent darkening, graying or blackening of the shade.
Adjust dosage flexibly according to glaze formula, target color depth and firing temperature. Small-batch testing is recommended before mass production to verify qualified hue and stability.
